Madeline Figueroa-Jones, a NY native, is the editor-in-chief of PLUS Model Magazine (PMM), the #1 publication celebrating the plus size fashion and plus modeling industry.
Always an activist and looking to bring plus size women into a fashion forward mentality, in 2006 she combined forces with friend and online magazine publisher, Valery Amador, to create PLUS Model Magazine, where they could respond to plus women's demand for fashionable clothing displayed prominently on appropriately sized models. Since then, Ms. Figueroa-Jones has quickly become the, 'Anna Wintour' of the plus size industry where she is frequently called upon for her expertise and insight; Appearances and interviews include ABC World News with Diane Sawyer, Entertainment Tonight, Coco Perez, Fox News, HuffingtonPost.com and 200+ other media sources.
Ms. Figueroa-Jones has produced stunning editorials and issues that push the envelope, going where no other traditional fashion magazine dares to go; including edgy fashion spreads aimed at featuring the plus size modeling industry in it's truest light, as well as exclusive interviews offering insight into some of today's top models and industry professionals. Under her direction, in January 2012 PMM hit viral status for the explosive editorial, PLUS SIZE BODIES, WHAT IS WRONG WITH THEM ANYWAY?".
Expanding the PLUS empire, PLUS Model Radio
was introduced in March 2008 with host Chenese Lewis, which is today's number one podcast for plus size women in the industry. In January 2010 Ms. Figueroa-Jones implemented 18PLUS, again pushing the plus size industry by featuring plus size women, models and entertainers who wear a size 18 and larger; an often overlooked and underserved segment of the modeling and entertainment industries.
