Tiffany: If you could pick the perfect
plus modeling campaign for yourself, who would you want to work for?
Toy: My perfect plus modeling
campaign would include me working for myself in collaboration with supporters
of my cause and to influence the lives of women in an encouraging,
strengthening and spiritually sound manner. I'd like those supporters to be the
likes of Queen Latifah, Jill Scott, Tyra Banks, Oprah, Kimberly
Locke, Jennifer Hudson, Taraji P. Henson and the phenomenal Phylicia
Rashad! These women have been an example to me and I hope to do the same for
another.
Tiffany: What have been some challenges you have faced as an aspiring plus
model?
Toy: One major challenge I face is being
in the know of all the opportunities that I need to audition/attend. I suppose
this would be easier if I had an agent, but I have spent my time getting to
know all I can about the industry so that I am able to select the best
representation for my career. In the interim, I continue to network and keep an
eye on all that is going on in my city and abroad!
Tiffany: What are your dreams, desires and goals as a plus model?
Toy: My tag is "Influencing the Lives
of Women One Pose at a Time"...that is what I desire to do. The level of
influence depends on the need. I'd like my career as a model to inspire women
spiritually, mentally, socially and physically. While I am a plus model, I
believe in exercise and being fit! I want to showcase that it is possible to be
healthy, fit and still be size sexy! I speak and encourage women all the time
and it does my heart good to know that I've deposited something useful into
their thought process. I want to continue in this effort and reach more women!
Tiffany: Name your favorite store to shop for curvy clothes in your hometown
and why you love them so much.
Toy: For the last several
years, I've been an avid NY&Co shopper! Since they were called Lerner NY! I
tend to dress more business casual than anything and when I'm not out and
about, I like comfortable tanks and yoga pants. NY&Co was made for
me...either that or I built my wardrobe around their collections. I even shop
their online sister store, Metrostyle.com.
I also enjoy Torrid!
