Interview w/ Dance Your A** Off's Kiki Ware, 10/01/2010

Some of you may remember the interview I did with Kiki a few issues back when she was a contestant on DYAO. Well, the show has since wrapped and we saw that Kiki, and her cast mates had AMAZING body transformations when the reunion/finale show aired!  I decided to sit down and chat with Kiki about what she's been up to since the show ended and I had to know about the  "showmance" between her & Corey (the finale left us hanging).


NY: Hey Miss Kiki! Thanks for following up with us! I saw the finale and you REALLY transformed! How much weight did you lose from start to finish?


KW: From start to finish I've lost about 65 pounds. I'm still hoping to lose about 15 more. I was never made to be stick thin, so I need to keep these curves!


NY: LOL! I have a feeling your curves won't be going anywhere no matter what size you are. What have you been doing to keep the weight off/stay in shape?


KW: To keep the weight off I have been maintaining my healthy lifestyle. You cannot think of it as a must change your whole way of living. I rarely drink soda and I limit my sugar and sodium intake. I also allow myself to indulge when I want something. Deprivation makes you overeat when you finally do decide to give in. I try to work out as much as possible and stay active. Dancing, walking, anything to get the blood pumping!!!


NY: What have been some of your greatest challenges as you've tried to maintain a healthy lifestyle?


KW: Some of my greatest challenges have been my grandmother's home cooking!!! That woman can throw down!!! I have to know when to pass and when to sample. Honestly, a lot of my friends and family have jumped on the healthy tip with me. It makes it a lot easier to keep up the positive lifestyle.


NY: Girl, I'm with you on the down-home cooking thing! My grandma passed a couple of weeks ago in Arkansas and you should've seen the spread that was laid out for us at the repass! It included homemade peach cobbler! No bueno:-)! I "sampled" even though I wanted to PIG OUT and take a plate or two for the road! 


NY: Describe your daily workout routine. Do you still have a trainer?


KW: My daily workout consists of walking/jogging for 30 minutes to an hour. I add in push ups, jumping, jacks, abs workouts every other day. I do not have a trainer, but I do stay in contact with LEE WALL, our fabulous trainer from DYAO! Go CRUNCH GYM!
