Jen Kersey Speaks Out About Healty Living, Modeling and "The Biggest Loser", 4/01/2007
[Maddy] How long have you been modeling? Where has modeling taken you?
[Jen] I've been modeling for a little over 2 years. It has taken me form NYC to LA and San Fran. I have also delved into
commercials as well. I have done some runway and will be judging a
runway competition, Full Figured and Fabulous, on March 31st in
Charlotte, NC.
[Maddy] What has been your most enjoyable job to date?
[Jen] Gosh!! That's so hard to choose from. I have loved every job,
every photographer. I am so lucky that I've had such good experiences
with amazing hair, make-up artists, stylists, photographers and art
directors. I must say that I have to give kudos to FIGURE magazine. The
girls working on the project were amazing and pushed for my picture to
be on the cover. They were so great to me and so excited to have me on
the project.
[Maddy] You are very serious about a healthy lifestyle. What would you
want our PLUS readers to know about beginning and maintaining a
healthy lifestyle?
[Jen] I want readers of PLUS Model Magazine to realize that healthy
living is attainable at any size. I am a firm believer that size does
not equate health. Science has shown that genetics plays a huge role in
predisposing our bodies to our "healthy size." For some that may be a
curvy size 16, for others it may be a muscular 6'2", 225lbs or 5'9",
120lbs. And cardiovascular disease does not discriminate between any of
these
people!
Life is too short and we all should live life to the fullest.
And that includes living a healthy, active life. Even though we are
plus we should not let anything, whether it is physical or not,
intimidate us. I am here to uplift and encourage every plus woman to be
strong inside and out!
