Up Close and Personal with "More to Love's" Tali, 2/01/2010

I remember watching in anticipation when Fox's More To Love introduced their twenty plus-size beauties who would get the opportunity to find true love with one husky hunk and compete for the "happily ever after" they dreamt about.  When one contestant in particular came out of her limo to introduce herself to the yummy bachelor I couldn't help but think how striking her beauty was and how she walked with grace from the first to last step.  It was her silent confidence and class that got me interested as a viewer and wondered if Luke, the bachelor, would take a second to notice this beauty.   Not only did he notice, but he fell hard.  Lets get to know more from my one-on-one with More to Love winner, Tali Giat.

Tiffany: How did you hear about the show More to Love and what made you want to try it out?

Tali: I was contacted by the LA Casting Director of More To Love, who scouted me a year earlier at a modeling event.  I had just moved to NYC to further pursue modeling, using it in working to promote positive body image.  When I found out the show had an objective to celebrate that real size people can find love too, I felt like someone had sent me huge sign; as if someone had heard my prayers and hopes.  And personally, I was so ready to find the love of my life. Pursuing my passion of empowering full figured woman while doing it was the perfect combination!

Tiffany: What was your life like before More to Love?

Tali: A few months before going on the show I made the move to NYC to further pursue my modeling career. As we know, the industry is not easy to break into. It takes a lot of hard work, dedication, consistency, and mostly patience. I was ready to get to work and was determined for success.  I was pounding the pavement in the 'big city', long hours every day, doing promotional modeling gigs for local brands. I also worked as a wardrobe stylist and when I wasn't modeling I would send out my resume to fashion companies.  I'm familiar with hard work and I was willing to work my way from the ground up.

Tiffany: What was your first reaction when they told you that you would be a finalist?

Tali: It was a long waiting process of a couple of months. But as soon as I received the final word: "You are in, be packed and ready to go on a flight to LA on Monday", I was on cloud nine! I ecstatic to be a part of something that had the enormous potential of making a positive change in attitude, and might even help many women by its message.  I was even more heart warmed by the thoughts that I might have the chance to fall in love again.

Tiffany: What was your family's reaction to you being on the show?

Tali: My family was excited for me and very supportive. I am very blessed with people in my life, family and friends, who know how to keep me grounded and realistic. They know me well enough to know that being on TV would not change who I am.

Tiffany: What was your first impression of the mansion and of the girls?

Tali: The first night coming to the house was quite overwhelming for me and I'm sure for everyone else. There are so many people around you, cameras and lights, and the butterflies before meeting the Bachelor all at once was very exciting. The house was so beautiful and from the first impression I had when I first met the girls, I thought we had a pretty good variety of attractive looking women who all seemed very nice, smart and funny. I knew it would take some time, of course, to have an accurate read on the other girls, so I didn't rush to make any conclusions or solid opinions on anyone yet.
