Sexy plus size lingerie is inspired by the fashions of the 60s, 70s and 80s for Valentine's Day, 2008.  Plus Size Plum chose its new look, a fuchsia babydoll with black ribbon sash because it's reminiscent of Claudia Cardinale, the smoldering Italian 60's sex kitten.  From my days in the plus size garment business in Los Angeles in the 80s, I recall fuchsia as being the most popular hue for casting warmth against a variety of skin tones. When I saw Cameron Diaz wearing a fuchsia gown with a large, chunky turquoise necklace this year, I saw this as a sign of its comeback.  Fuchsia is creating a new legion of fans dazzled by those flattering pinks and evoking a sense of joy for those who wear it.

The 70s gave us the vertical pleated columns of Mary Mc Fadden like our new stretch crimson lace and pleated chiffon which drapes softly over curves resulting in fluid movement.  Sexy plus size lingerie is created for seductive, dramatic effect.  Your lover is focused on the excitement of your entrance as well as your exit. Sinuous movement plays an integral role in creating that memorable moment.  

Much of what we see in fashion is influenced by film and celebrity style like the beauties of Warren Beatty's Shampoo.  Julie Christie and Goldie Hawn's halter styles of the 70s provide lift and a clean vertical line like the babydoll with rose ties and rose trimmed empire waist ending in a floating skirt.
